Welcome to the home of Midwest Audio Club! We are audio enthusiasts with a strong focus on DIY and events that showcase this passion. Currently, we host & operate: a set of galleries for DIY audio events, a wiki that holds information & tools on audio DIY, and a forum to engage in discussions of all manner of audio. Yearly in October, we facilitate a DIY audio event called IowaDIY. Recently, this has been hosted at the Best Western Premier in Ankeny, IA. Depending on circumstances, there is also DakotaDIY, hosted in the lovely Sioux Falls, SD in the summer.

We are a non-profit group, and all funding for events and sites comes from our communities’ donations. The majority coming from ‘the pumpkin’ at IowaDIY and the sales of MAC branded drivers at JuleFidelity. This means we are fully non-commercial and are not directly sponsored by any corporation. The benefits of this are that we provide a space where all companies’ products can be openly discussed without bias (or control) of the host platform.

Supporting the Enthusiast

All the sites above are in an effort to support the enthusiasts of DIY audio, no matter the level of knowledge or skill. The goal is to provide help equally to the novice who has just begun their adventure in the hobby, to the heights of someone like Nick, pictured above, displaying an incredible Minion-themed speaker build at Iowa 2022.

We have resources and discussions covering topics related to passive crossover design for speakers to active DSP and amplifier builds. The community itself is very knowledgeable and good-hearted, welcoming newcomers readily.
Whatever your journey looks like with DIY audio, I’m quite sure a resource linked above can be of assistance.
